David Keith of Britain’s Peace Network is in Nova Scotia from September
16th to October 1st, 2000. He is here for the second time for “16 Days
of Peace” held at Heritage Hill Learning Centre, Wolfville, N.S..
Anna Redmond Keith is also here again, for the second year, to teach
“Dances of Universal Peace” in three locations: Wolfville, Melvern
Square and Halifax. This year, we are pleased to introduce “Quiet Days”
to the program. “Peace work with Youth” is offered for the second time,
as are “The Art of Living in Peace” and the facilitator’s Training for
“The Art of Living in Peace.” We hope that you will join us for all or
some of this program. Contact: Ron or Madeline for more information
1-902-542-9565.

The “Art of Living in Peace” is a 14 hour program based on the teachings
of Pierre Weil, President of the International Holistic University of
Brazilia. During this workshop, we will look at the causes of war. We
will look at peace. We will ask where peace begins. We will look at the
individual: mind, body, emotions. If the individuals are peaceful, then
a peaceful society is created, which in turn looks after the
environment. If there is a fantasy of separation, then society creates
disparity, fighting and war. The environment is degraded.

* Peace is not just the absence of war or conflict. Peace is a profound,
vibrant and joyful state of being.

David Keith was born in Liverpool in 1935. From 1967-1974, he was in the
ministery within the Church of England. Here he was involved in parish
work, the hospital and chaplaincy. David founded a Liverpool-based
registered charity to serve the young unemployed. He assisted the
probation to set up a hostel as a therapeutic alternative to
prison-supported men and women who lived in city houses; initiated
similar charitable houses for homeless persons living in a loose-knit
community centred around David and his family, who lived in their own
home, using it as a core house in the same road.

After receiving a Masters Degree in Organizational Development, David
spent time subsequently researching and evaluating quality life in
social education programmes.

With the Sheffield Education Department, for 20 years, helping schools
to manage change (consultancy, teacher training, school development and
support-management of health and well-being for individuals and
corporate groups of staff.) Over the past five years, David has extended
his work to students from upper primary (elementary) level to those in
college.

When David and Pierre Weil met at Findhorn in Scotland, it became clear
how much they had in common. Since then, David has visited in Brazilia
twice and become authorized to facilitate “The Art of Living in Peace”
workshop.

David also developed the Peace Foundation Network (UK) which
co-ordinates this work in Britain.

David now spends most of his time fairly equally between
facilitating, and training others in the Art of Living in Peace
workshops, and working with young people in schools in Peace Education.
