Hello folks, Paul suggested to me that some of you folks might be interested in this message I previously posted to our neighbourhood association: A week or so ago I found out that Wisteria Crafter's Collective was in danger of shutting down operations due to financial difficulties and consequent inability to maintain enough staff hours to be viable. This would be a shame, we felt, as it is a very friendly and attractive store to have in our neighbourhood. I spoke with Erica Butler, who said that she would try to work out a deal with the landlord to allow them to hold on. I told Erica that I would check with members of the neighbourhood association to see if. 1. any of our artists or craftspeople wanted to join the co-op 2. failing that, if any others felt they could devote an hour or two per week to working there as volunteers. Actually, if you do join it looks like a pretty good deal. Doing a few volunteer hours could be fun also. Here follows Erica's announcement: WISTERIA CRAFTER'S COLLECTIVE NEEDS YOU! Wisteria Crafter's Collective (2393 Agricola) is a cooperatively run craft store, where members share the work in order to get a greater return on their sales. Wisteria needs new members and volunteers to help keep the shop running this fall. If you can spare an afternoon or two to work in the shop, or helping in any other way, your time would be greatly appreciated!! Please call Erica at 431-9936 to volunteer. If you're a craftsperson interested in joining Wisteria, here's how it works. You take home 80% of your sales, and are responsible for working two days in the shop every month. That's it. No fees!! We need people for September, so if you think you might be interested, call Erica today at 431-9936. Thanks! -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- The preceding message was posted on Sustainable Maritimes (sust-mar) -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Looking for an old message?
