Subject: Urgent: commuter rail Unfortunately the hopes of commuter rail service in the HRM might be dashed very shortly-unless a strong appeal is made RIGHT NOW to keep CN from its September 1st deadline of removing the tracks. I understand that Senator Bernie Boudreau was going to make a plea to the City Council this coming Tuesday to hold on to the tracks however apparently the senator is in the Carribean so commuter rail won't even be on this coming Tuesday's Council.agenda!! This Tuesday is the last city council meeting before the September 1st deadline. I strongly urge individuals to contact David Collinette (federal minister of transportation) and explain why the tracks should not be removed. His fax number is: 613 995 0327. Regards ' Rebecca I have some excellent maps provided by Marcus Garnet that prove that the population base in the proposed rail corrodor is more than substantial enough to support a commuter rail service. Please forward this message to any individuals or community groups who are supportive of transportation options in this municipality.-- TRAX Ecology Action Centre 1568 Argyle St. Halifax NS B3J 2B3 P: (902) 429-0924 F: (902) 422-6410 E: trax@istar.ca -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- The preceding message was posted on Sustainable Maritimes (sust-mar) -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Looking for an old message?
