Hello! Please distribute far and wide... The Coastal Zone 2000 Youth Forum is fast approaching! This international youth event (for ages 16-29) will be held from September 15-17 in Saint John, New Brunswick. As the youth component of the Coastal Zone Canada 2000 Conference, we will gather the weekend before, and present our findings to the Main Conference at their Opening Ceremonies on the evening of Sunday, September 17th. Important notices! 1. If you register before August 11th, your $60 (CDN) registration fee will include your accommodations for up to four nights. 2. If you are of Aboriginal decent you may be eligible for Financial Aid being provided by the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs. Fill out the form at http://www.sybertooth.ca/czczcc2000/register.htm (be sure to mark down on the form that you are Aboriginal and would like to attend the Youth Forum) The Youth Forum organizers have been hard at work over the past 2 years designing a program filled with interesting keynote speakers and challenging workshops. Keynote speakers include Charlie Labrador, a well known Mi'kmaq elder, Elizabeth May of the Sierra Club of Canada, and Louis LaPierre of the Universite de Moncton. Come and learn about coastal zone management and coastal issues. You'll explore topics such as Aboriginal culture and concerns, the Ecological Footprint concept, visioning for the future, designing a Marine Protected Area, discussing your concerns with an MP and an MLA about how government functions. You'll even have the opportunity to help out with a local community Beach Sweep! For the full program visit the Youth Forum web site at http://www.sybertooth.ca/czczcc2000/yf.htm Space is limited to 150 on a first come first served basis, so register before August 11th and get your accommodations included with your registration fee! Cheers, Max Westhead Youth Forum Chair -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- The preceding message was posted on Sustainable Maritimes (sust-mar) -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Looking for an old message?
