Index of Subjects A good place to start would be to call for "Zero Tolerance" of agressive driving on all our roads in Nova Scotia. I suspect that in many cases, it is careless or impatient decisions to overtake on two-way roads that lead to head-on collisions (and two-way roads will always exist in this province even after the 101 is twinned). Photo-radar would give an immediate life-saving benefit, rather than letting more people die while the government saves up enough to twin the highway. As a planner and a transit advocate I'm not categorically opposed to some strategic highway twinning where it makes sense (and there may be a good safety argument in some places), but a knee-jerk reaction to plan all our roads around the agressive driver is hardly good stewardship! - Marcus Garnet, HRM Planning & Development >>> Jan Slakov <jslakov@TartanNET.ns.ca> 02/16 12:42 PM >>> Dear Sustainable Maritimes people, Just recently I got a letter from Ron Russell, NS Minister of Transportation & Public Works in reply to one I had written. Minister Russell informs me that as soon as his Department gets money, they will get to work twinning the 101. Bad news for greenhouse gas emissions and even for safety concerns!
