The Halifax Regional Outdoor Centre, HeartWood, and Nova Scotia Sport and Recreation Commission invite you to a very special talk by STEVE VAN MATRE entitled MAPBEARERS, TOOLKEEPERS, AND STARMAKERS Stimulating insights & ideas for educators and parents on creating an atmosphere for magical learning adventures Friday, June 16 at 8 pm Halifax, Nova Scotia (location TBA) Steve Van Matre is a former professor of Environmental Education and the co-founder and Chairman of the Institute for Earth Education, which has branches in ten countries. At various points in his career he has served as a youth leader, schoolteacher, camp director, and educational consultant. He has a worldwide reputation as an outstanding leader in the field and has conducted over 800 training sessions and completed 12 world speaking tours. His widely published works include Acclimatization (1969), Acclimatizing (1974), Sunship Earth (1979), The Earth Speaks (1983), EarthKeepers (1987), and Earth Education: A New Beginning (1990).
