The GOOD NEWS is that more people are reading sust-mar than ever before.
197 subscribers at last count. That's up from ~70 in Dec 98 when we became
moderated. We had been up to 150 once before; that was before the flame
wars took heavy casualties.

The bad news, if it is bad news, is that we are somewhat victims of our
own success. We've gone from a time when anything could be posted -- and
usually was -- to a point that for the first time i'm having to be very
selective about what gets posted.

Just about everything that is on topic, ie concerned with a sustainability
or environmental issue in Maritime Canada will be posted. Eventually.

But if it is not time-sensitive, ie if it does not have a date in it, it
may not get posted anytime soon (by way of example, a post i sent two
weeks ago is still waiting).

If it is time sensitive, PLEASE PUT THE DATE IN A VERY PROMINENT POSITION,
CLOSE TO THE FRONT. I have to make decisions very quickly.

And ... please remember to SEND IT IN EARLY. Almost two dozen of us
subscribe to the digest version. Digest subscribers get messages once
every two weeks. That means that many of the events will be over by the
time they get them if you wait til the last minute to send things in.

It's also a problem if i receive several time-sensitive posts all at once.

Finally, please keep in mind that if it's off topic for sust-mar, it may
be ON TOPIC on another list. At least two unmoderated environmental-type
lists have sprung up locally recently. And there are always national and
international lists you can join.

Keep the great posts coming!
~paul :)

If time-sensitive, please put "urgent" in subject line ... or phone. Thx!
