Ever considered that one way to make the Maritimes more "Sustainable" is to partake of "sustainable entertainment"? That's right ... instead of jumping in our cars, gassing up and motoring out to the American-owned big screen theatre in the closest insustrial park or "sprawl mall", how about supporting the local industry ... independent local theatre? Some great examples i can think of (in Halifax) include: - Dalhousie Theatre [low low subscription price, even lower for students, 4 plays at the Rebecca Cohn during the school year http://www.dal.ca/~thtrwww/dtdp.html - Dartmouth Players, http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/Culture/DPlayers/index.html - Theatre Arts Guild (Pond Playhouse) - Eastern Front Theatre, 463-PLAY, http://easternfront.ns.sympatico.ca - Shakespeare By the Sea, http://shakespeare.ns.sympatico.ca (summer) That's just Halifax ... off the top of my head ... know any good local theatre in YOUR area? Sust-mar wants to know ... ! ~paul :) _________________________________________________________________________ Paul A.
