We really need you to come out for this one. we are at a crossroads here and right now I think it is more important then ever to sacrifice your friday lunch and show that we will NOT be lab rats for Monsanto (and other agri-foods giants) to test there products on. See you there, Cassin RED TOMATO ALERT TO ALL ACTIVISTS On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29, starting a 12:00 NOON there shall be a NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION on GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOODS here in HALIFAX. This day of action is aimed at public education and awareness on genetically engineered food. Our aim is to get information out to the public in fun and friendly interactive ways, and we encourage all of you to get involved. The day has been planned through C.E.A.G.E(Coalition for Education and Action on Genetically Engineered organisms) that consists of numerous working groups such as Oxfam, Sierra Youth/Eco Action, NSPIRG, the Raging Grannies, Council of Canadians, CUSO, and Youth for Environmental Action(YEA). THE PLAN: AT high noon, we are going to meet in the GRANDE PARADE SQUARE for some presentations by the Raging Grannies, and possibly Elizabeth May. The Frankenfurter theatre group are also going to put on some plays..we are hoping to get the media out here as well...(I should also mention that we plan on dressing up in COSTUMES and we have $200 dollars to do this with) From the parade square, we are going to parade down to the Quinpool IGA where we will interact with the public, handing out flyers about GEs and generally makin' some noise.....
