Hi there, ok, free food was a cheap trick to get you to read this email, but chances are it worked. The Nova Scotia Public Interest Research Group at Dalhousie University is having its Annual General Meeting. It will be an opportunity to find out what nspirg has planned for the coming year as well as what we did last year and check out our latest publications. It's also an opportunity to eat and hang out with some really nice people and get involved with our working groups. It's a pot luck, so there will be plenty to munch on. WHEN: Wednesday October 20, l999 6:30 pm WHERE:Room 224 of the Dal- Student Union Building (on University Ave.) In case you don't know who we are: Nspirg is a campus-based and community linked organization that recognizes that "mainstream" perspectives driven by excessive consumption and money-centred value systems dominate our society to such a degree that virtually all other viewpoints and values become excluded. We seek to enable more diverse, balanced and public involvement, dialogue and debate in the decisions which affect us all. We also fund original research, advocacy and educational groups. Our office serves as a research and resource centre. Here's a list of our working groups: Eco-Action, Cinema PIRGatory, Women's Health Collective, Peace Action Group, Animal Liberation Collective, Economic Justice, Humans Against Homophobia, Seymour Green and our Food Cooperative Hope to see you at our scrumptious feast! For more info call nspirg at 494-6662 or email us at nspirg@is2.dal.ca "Universities have a purpose.
