The peace action group, a working group of nspirg [the Nova Scotia Public Interest Research Group] at Dalhousie University is organizing a teach-in on East Timor: **** Teach-in for East Timor, Wednesday, sept. 15th , NOON ***** 1- We have a teach-in almost all planned out. Here are two of the speakers. We will also have one from the CFS (Canadian Federation of Students), and we've invited a spokesperson for Dalhousie to talk about Dalhousie's involvement. The teach in will be at Dalhousie University - location TBA [call the nspirg office for more info if you're interested in coming - 494-6662] Here are two of the talk titles, and speaker descriptions: Ian McAllister: "Ethics in time of crisis: Implications for Canadian Universities" (Professor of economics at Dalhousie, and past senior development advisor to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies in Geneva) Bruce Wark: "Manufacturing Confusion: the media and East Timor (and Kosovo, and Iraq, and...)"
