Must someone else die to prove a point? Hasn't there been enough sickness and death around Sydney and surrounding areas? Is Don Deleskie's petition from the COMMUNITY of no consequence to the 30 or 40 FEW people sitting on JAG that they should ignore please to clean up the tar ponds now, not in 3 years time? If Don Deleskie gets sick, are the members of JAG (including government partners) willing to take some of that responsibility for dragging their feet to the point where this man becomes so desperate he feels he must starve himself to get the "powers that be" to wake up? Anyone who has been involved in the tar ponds issue for even the shortest time, knows that Don Deleskie has had one goal in mind for over ten years and that goal is to get the mess cleaned up, not sit around and yap about it for 3+ years. So if "community-driven" means anything to JAG and government partners it's about time that JAG listens to the community and this brave man and gets the mess cleaned up. Enough is enough..
