NSEN Fall Gathering
September 17,18 & 19, 1999
Dorj Denma Ling Retreat - Tatamagouche
What You Need to Know...


Date:  September 17, 18, & 19, 1999

Location: Dorje Denma Ling Retreat (5k south of Tatamagouche, see map below)

Cost: $35 Unwaged/$55 waged/$75 government representative - includes Saturday breakfast through to Sunday lunch and two nights rustic accommodation (tents provided) (limited indoor accommodations available upon request).

Guest Speaker: Ron Colman will discuss the work he has been doing on the Genuine Progress Index and how it relates to the environment and to province and people of Nova Scotia.

Agenda - We will be addressing the following topics through a series of NSEN caucus meetings, interactive workshops, discussion and public theatre:
	    climate change
	    oceans
	    forests 
              youth initiatives 
	    environment & health

Speakers & Workshop facilitators include:

	   Dr. Nancy Shackell, DFO Marine Scientist & Activist
	   Kim Thompson, Eastern Shore Forest Watch Association
	   Kermit Degooyer, Ecology Action Centre, on Integrated Resource 										       Management

Food: The NSEN will be supplying a variety of dishes for omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. Please let us know of any health concerns or allergies you may have. 

What You Need to Bring:
	Sleeping bag
	Pillow
	Towels
	Rain Gear
	Flashlight
	Materials for note taking (if you wish)
	Musical Instruments
	Literature from your group for display!


	A sense of humour, eagerness to meet others, a devotion to the environment 	and an open heart and mind.	
	    	
Entertainment
	We will be having good music and food, along with some theatrical performances. This event is BYOB...so bring your preferred beverage for our social gatherings!

Children
	The NSEN is proud to offer our members daycare during the event. We have two qualified childcare workers creating a children's agenda for kids of all ages.
