In response to Colin's post I have the following comment(s).

There's only a limited amount of money and time available in the community
for environmentally related work.  If there are extremely important
chemically related issues which start to raise fundamental questions about
long term environmental viability of areas such as parts of PEI, then any
group working in that area has an obligation to at least begin to tackle
the question.  your points are well taken, for now.  however, the groups
involved should make a commitment to look at the carbofuran issue over the
next year so this hassle is not repeated next year.
