Hello all,

Does anybody out there know of any non-toxic, biodegradable concoctions or
methods to control cinch bug infestations on lawns? I tried calling a
couple of places a couple of years ago for ideas and pretty well came up
empty. I was told by one gardening place that soap and water isn't
enough, (though maybe that advice was motivated by the desire to sell
chemicals??).

This question is motivated by my wanting to give simple, practical advice
to lawn and garden loving suburbanites (frequently surrounded by spraying
neighbors, who in all likelihood set up the cinch bug cycle by doing so)
whose lawns are at present rapidly being damaged. I'm quite familiar with
all the aerating and thatch and other long term strategy advice, and in
fact dont personally give a heck about 'beautiful lawns' and often want to
throttle anyone who is even into the concept of 'lawn care', but the fact
of the matter (in the view of these folks) is that they want crisis
control, and soon.

There HAS to be a non toxic way. Any practical suggestions?

Thanks,

Peter Watson, a temorary surburbanite :)
