1. PROGRAM OFFICER - Women Development - Belize
The candidate should have training to degree level or certification in
social work;  knowledge of community development and social work; skills in
informal education and workshop facilitation.  The candidate should be
familiar with gender issues and should have experience of working with
community and/or women's groups.  Computer literacy would be an asset.
The candidate should understand the placement as a learning experience; have
an appreciation of working in another culture; be willing to work with women
who live in rural and depressed communities, and who have low literary
skills; have an understanding of the placement as offering support to the
agency.  The candidate could be an indigenous person or someone who has the
experience of working with indigenous peoples.


2. URBAN PLANNER, El Salvador
Degree or diploma in urban planning or management and 3 years experience in
similar work. This placement involves providing advisory services and
technical assistance to municipal authorities in a low-income innere-city
neighborhood, so as to  develop an innovative and participatory municipal
development plan.

3. COMMUNITY EDUCATOR, Peru
This position requires a social communicator with a minimum experience of
five years in training and education with marginalized sectors and community
leader, an ability to deal with groups, knowledge of educational
methodologies for adults, knowledge of the problems of lower class sectors
of Latin America, knowledge and appreciation of social work carried out by
ecumenical organizations in the South, links with church and people`s
networks in Canada and/or in the South, ability to relate with people who
represent communities at different levels (regional authorities, province
and district majors, councilors, community leaders, representatives of
survival organizations, promoters of women`s committees), ability to
generate work proposals that respond to the needs and interests of the
community, ability to work with limited resources and flexibility to adapt
to the job, an ability to be tolerant towards uncertain situations and sense
of humor. 

4. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRAINER, Papua New Guinea
Bachelor of Social Work or related degree with emphasis on community
development.  Experience working with community groups, first nations
people, womens groups or youth. Familiarity with small enterprise
development and micro credit schemes. Knowledge of and commitment to
feminist theory. Cross cultural experience. 

5. POPULAR THEATRE TRAINER, Papua New Guinea
Bachelor of Social Work or related degree with emphasis on community based
practice.  Experience working with community groups, first nations people or
youth. Familiarity with popular education theory and techniquyes. A
background in music or theatre an asset.  Knowledge of and commitment to
feminist theory. Cross cultural experience. 

6.  ENVIRONMENAL & AGRICULTURAL MEDIA ADVISOR  Indonesia
- Degree in adult education, communication, community development or
environmental education, working with community groups on visual media,
education on sustainable agriculture and health.  Language training provided.
