Come to the beautiful Annapolis Valley to take part in the first SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY FAIR on June 11, 12 & 13, 1998, at the Old Orchard Inn. Hosted by the Kings CED Agency, the 2 1/2 day conference focuses upon Sustainable Development as an approach to community planning and long-term development of the tools and skills for effective management of the environment. Key-note Speakers: Mark Bekkering, Senior Policy Analyst of the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth, will highlight two large scale efforts by his community to define and acheive sustainable development goals. Dr. Peter Hardi, International Institute for Sustainable Development, will discuss the process, tools, and institutional arrangements for assessing the performance of communities to achieve sustainable development. His presentation will briefly analyze the experience of IISD's field projects in Canada, Mexico and Pakistan.
