Jackie, et al.,

Can you provide any information on how it is known that
hunters are using snowmobiles to chase down the wolves?
I heard an interview with the NWT minister of wildlife,
resources & something yesterday, and he basically said that
there is no proof that this is happening, it is simply a matter
of scientists from Calgary & Vancouver making these
claims. I would like to at least write a letter but before
doing so would like a little more information.

Also, it isn't clear that this is not a wilderness issue.
We're concerned about wolves here in Ontario; if there
were no Algonquin Park, would our concerns be unjustified
from a CPAWS perspective? Doesn't this boil down to
a discussion of responsible ecosystem management, whether
it involves a formally designated conservation area or not?
My questions are to entertain some discussion and not
intended as argument or criticism. I'd very much like
to hear what others have to say about this.
