"Not all children have access to a computer. Without ACCESS to things like
the Internet, or other programs focused on helping them learn more about
technology, technology is like a genie in a lamp. The power is not being
released." (Junior Summit applicant)

AMBASSADORS OF A NEW DIGITAL CULTURE

EXPRESSIONS OF CHANGE

The world has a lot to learn from its children, especially in the digital
domain. The information society of tomorrow needs input from children
today. The Junior Summit is a global movement for children to change the
future by participating in a 6-month online forum, centered around a
week-long international summit. The goal is to bring life-long benefits
back to children and their communities.

INSPIRE THE WORLD TO CHANGE

To inspire the world to listen, we want you to express your ideas boldly
and creatively, in words, images and music. The Junior Summit is a place to
live outside the sphere of what children are supposed to be able to do. It
is a place to explore, invent, learn and plan with other children, and then
to have your ideas heard by world leaders in industry, government and
education.

DEADLINE MARCH 31st, 1998

If you will be between 10 and 16 years old in November 1998 and would like
to participate, you must submit an entry by March 31, 1998. We want to
know how you see the state of children in your commmunity and in the world,
what changes you think can and should be brought about, and how these
changes could be affected by the growth of the Internet and other new
communication technologies.
