Hi Jessica. We've been working on our mail server to replace
hard drives as they fail. It has four hard drives, all linked together so that
the failure of any one drive does not impact the server - a new drive can be
put in and synch up with the three remaining drives.

Last weekend, two drives failed at once, an incredibly rare occurrence.
This weekend we've started replacing the drives, synching up each new drive
before adding another. We've replaced two of the four as of this writing, one
already running fully and one midway through synching up.

Apparently, and not known by us at the time, some back-end mail
sessions between mail servers were left open when the server restarted, causing
login failures for some users. By the time we were working on the servers again
the problem had already resolved itself.

The short version is that we do everything we can to safeguard user
mail and keep everything working smoothly, but despite our best efforts,
sometimes things will happen. For what it is worth, we had a 99.972% uptime
last year.
