Hi Susan,

Mark here from Community Support.

I actually gave up reading the interchange between and Michael
(and ..?..), as it made little sense to me at the time.

I want to share my experience, which you may or may not be repeating,
for the benefit of all Area Editors who may be shy about taking this
on.

What I had done was download the template via the "save as" feature
in my browser... which did NOT give me the template, it gave me the
template PLUS the "server side includes" - extra file bits that are
added automatically (the #include line in the template).

You should first grab the template via FTP, it's in the /info/ directory.

There _could_ be a few more comment tags added to the template code
to make it more obvious what should be changed. There are not one,
but two, title tag areas that have to be changed on each page.

Honestly, if I had to revise those pages from within the Lynx editing
system, I'd still be working on the first page. Much easier to FTP
the whole thing off (your two/three/four index and sub-index pages)
and cut-n-paste from the original to the template-file using a
plain-text editor like BBEdit (a fabulous program, also available in
Windoze, which if you register and get the Pro version includes a
great HTML tag checker that has saved my code!). Available at the
Stairways Software website.

Good luck,
Mark
