Hi Mike (and others),

With all due respect to your efforts of making changes on the webcam site,
I think there has been some considerable confusion over requested changes
to the site.

I could stand to be corrected by Doug, as the Webmaster, but the webcam
site is like another IP site. It is essentially a marketing vehicle where
we are promoting a higher visibility of Chebucto Community Net through an
innovative medium. This initiative was developed and encourage by the
Office with a great deal of support from Tech and other interested
volunteers. It's now working reasonably well and we need to clarify how it
will be maintained.

As such, the Office needs to have the capacity to change, position and
reformat banner ads quickly on the webcam site - I don't see this as a
committee process or a role for the Editor-in-Chief. It is a role for the
Office (and whoever might be charged with further marketing duties in the
fall), as it is, the Office (in cooperation with the Communications
Committee) is attempting to market and attract potential sponsors to the
site to cover its costs and maybe generate further revenues for Chebucto.
We're certainly getting attention and we now need to make that earn some
revenues for us in the very near future.

So unless there is major issues with this, I would like to suggest that the
Office will make changes to the webcam site if and when necessary.
Suggestions though are always welcome.

Cheers,
Leo
