Hi everyone,

This 'thesis avoidance' trip I'm on has spurred many and sundry ideas that
I need to vent at some point, in some form. Or forum. Do we have an
appropriate place to discuss interface / content / design concepts for
Chebucto? CCN-IP seems to have become a catch-all for many tangential
threads... perhaps we could create a place for this? A "brainstorm" list
so to speak?

We have talked informally of community chat rooms.... specialized content
around issues, like "parenting" or "students" or even "shopping" - not
just lists of links, but geniuine content. Yes, it's going to take
someone to do it... but if we're talking about, maybe someone will be
spurred to develop the content and make it available to the CCN community.

I was spurred to this thought this evening as I was trying to find some
used Mac hardware. The newsgroups hfx.forsale and ns.forsale didn't have
what I wanted, so I remembered Chebucto's own internal sales forum:

"gwanted" and "goffered"

...but checking the dates, I see that both are not getting much use.

Perhaps we could repackage it, and open up an area like the

"Chebucto Yard Sale"

There was at one point a rationale for the internal sell/buy service,
which meant that the .forsale newsgroups weren't serving a purpose.
Right?

Ideas?

M.
