Hi everyone, This to follow-up on the meeting we had on Tuesday evening (23rd). We reviewed the work assignments from the May 2nd meeting and got further updates on the progress everybody is making. More tasks were also assigned, namely: * was going to share the work tasks he had done with the Chebucto Editors on updating his support pages within the new template design. See his posting to the editor's list on Wed, 24 May 2000 20:32:05 -0300 (ADT). * was also going to set up the Subject Directory for the new homepage. You can now see it at: www.chebucto.ns.ca/subject.shtml *Andrew is touching up the Alphabetical listing to access the IP list from the homepage. It is expected the new homepage will be up on Monday. *Andrew and Leo are doing up an 'About Chebucto' page which will be linked off the homepage - what is essentially now in the 'Membership Information Booklet.' *Mike Cormier was going to do up a conversion document to further support the Editors in updating their links for the new site. *Jeff Warnica will be obtaining some search engine software to test and will share it with ccn-tech in due course for assessment and/or further enhancements. *David Potter is coordinating specific scripting change requests to the IPDB to address office IP account management needs and he hopes to have things functional in the next week or two. *Leo will be contacting, first by email, (cc. Editors) all the current 211 IPs to officially announce the new fee structure and invite them to submit a renewal fee if they haven't renewed since last June'99. He will also outline the criteria for those IPs that don't have the financial resources to renew their accounts. He will also announce the new homepage and invite ideas on how Chebucto can provide further IP support re. workshops in the fall, other services, re. web design, etc. *Leo will also attempt to personally contact each IP account on the matter of renewals. *There were discussions also on how Chebucto can support the Editors re. workshops in the fall, establish a sequence of sessions on web related design, content management and subject directory guides to enhance sections, etc. More follow-up will be done with the Editors on this by Leo. This is to also feed into larger community-wide discussions on establishing a community information portal in partnership with other community organizations. Thanks for everybody's continued interest in this important endeavor. Cheers, Leo _________________________________________ Leo J. Deveau, Executive Director, Chebucto Community Net, Halifax, N.S.
