Hi Tom,

CCN provides 'basic' services to our members, including text-based access and FTP. These services provide members with the rudements of user account and file maintenance. Text-based access provides functions that are not available from a graphics interface (bookmark files, private files, etc.). These services are not included in the price of membership.

Many members subscribe to our PPP service (graphic interface), or have access via other ISPs providing a graphical interface, to view or update their personal files. Many, on the other hand, are dyed-in-the-wool Lynx users, and prefer the text environment.

Internet users will be able to view your public files in a format consistent with the browser, plug-ins, and connection used , the mark-up codes embedded in the file, and the file type (html, gif, jpeg, etc.).

Hi Doug,

I'm still a bit confused in the way you're bundling dial-in access with virtual domain name service (VDNS) since they are different services. We don't need dial-in access but we will need ftp. I
thought I got ftp access when I registered and paid for my "az164" account which was a prerequisite to registering as an IP.

I trust the dial-in option we choose (referred to as "text only" in your description) will not limit the way our web page will be accessed. I assume our web pages will be fully functional
"graphical" http web pages probably served by a recent release of the Apache web server. Please let me know if any of these assumptions are incorrect.
