Hi people, I just want to say a BIG THANK-YOU to all who assisted in various duties at the Math Department 'Appreciation Barbecue' last Thursday. I think everyone had a good time and we even had a chance to meet people who we've talked to often on the phone, but to this point had never met ! A special thank-you to food shopper extraordaniare, Sue Newhook; barbecue chefs, Clive Bagley and Mike Cormier; to Joyline for making sure people wore nametags; to Andrew Wright for keeping me on top of the details, getting the second barbeque, etc.; and to David Murdoch and Michael Smith for making sure we invited all the right people ! Also, to all those from our various committees who were able to come out and say hello. Its been suggested that we try and make this a yearly event or even once a term. So we'll see what our time will be like come Christmas ! The next big gig for us will be Word on the Street, Sept. 26th - so put that on your calendar.
