There is an old expression - "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics!" Statistics are only numbers. They are often (I would almost say nearly always) misused. They must be put into context before you can extract some useful information. And even then your conclusions may be biased (in other words - incorrect). 'Are a majority of the containers on the shelf half full, or half empty?' Depends on your point of view, or personal agenda, or option. While everyone is entitled to their option, options are not irrefutable facts. The numbers recently gleamed from the IP database are not statistics, but an accounting. They were computed from a system that is not fully understood, and can only be classified as interesting and as a subject for discussion. Until other information is gathered and combined with this first accounting they are virtually useless.
