Hi everyone, Hope the summer is going well for you all. I just wanted to let everyone know that I've line up a special barbecue for Thursday, August 26th at the Math Department to express CCN's thanks and appreciation to the Department for their support and generosity. Needless to say, without the Math Department's support in providing an office, as well as extra space for our summer student projects, as well as technical assistance from Kassim, CCN would have a very difficult time keeping everything running ! So lets get out and show our appreciation, introduce oursleves to many the of the Department's faculty and staff, as well as graduate students. The barbecue gets under way around 11:30am and will run till about 1:30/2pm at the latest. We expect upwards of 70 people from the Department to come out, so I'd like to see a good showing from CCN. We'll be putting together a 'barbeque team' to help out, so any chefs that can lend their assistance (hotdogs/hamburgers), or others to fill out nametags for people, pick up stuff at the stores, etc., would be greatly appreciated. Just get in touch with me... I'd like all the Committee chairs to notify their committee members to come out for the event - this will not be a full membership invite - that's coming later for our Anniversary party in late Sept. - more on that later !
