Katy's Page
On Dec.30, 2011, Katy married Ben Hartling whom she met while they were both at Acadia. She is now officially Katy Hartling. Ben works at Statistics Canada in Ottawa, so Katy went to Carleton to pursue graduate studies. In 2015, she graduated with a PhD in high energy physics, then got a research job with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in Chalk River. Since it is two hours up river from Ottawa, they moved to Renfrew, about halfway between the two, giving them each about an hour commute.
On May 5, 2018, Andrew arrived. Katy took six months of maternity leave, then Ben took a year of leave until Andrew was old enough for day care. Andrew is now almost five and goes to junior kindergarten.
Alexander was born on October 9, 2021. Katy took a nine-month maternity leave after which Ben took over for nine months which has just ended (early April 2023). Alex is being acclimatized to day-care.
