Spencer House continues to bustle with activity, especially with older adults who drop in to use our Chebucto Community Net Public Access Terminal. If you are aged 55 plus, and interested in the internet you are welcome to drop in and surf the net, and sit in on one of our Intro to the Internet Workshops. We also offer Intro To Computer Workshops.

We have had a tremendous response to our 1996 Annual Appeal. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have graciously sent Spencer House a donation. 1996 promises to be a year of economic change for Spencer House, and we truly appreciate your financial support in these tough economic times. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations over ten dollars.
Have you thought about becoming a member at Spencer House? If so please let us know. Membership is only $ 8.00 per year, and entitles you to reduced lunch prices, reduced admission at socials, and gets your name on our telephone list to advise you of upcoming events. Membership also allows you to vote at the annual meeting.
Do you have alot of unanswered questions, or would you like to attend an intermediate workshop? Please let us know and we will do our best to arrange a workshop to meet your needs. It is possible that I will have a new volunteer for Wednesday mornings 10a.m. to noon. Stay tuned, or drop in on Wednesday to check this out.
Grandfriends will be at Spencer House on Monday, April 15 at 1:00pm. This is an intergenerational program with a grade one class from St. Mary's Elementary School. All seniors are welcome to join us. This month the students will share their favourite toy with us, and we will take a look at the "Peeper" activity book.
April 21 marks Volunteer Week, and where would we be with out Spencer House volunteers? I can't even imagine Spencer House without our numerous, dedicated volunteers. You are what keeps Spencer House operational. The staff and seniors would like to thank all of you for your contribution, and hard work in the past years. We look forward to a continued working relationship in the upcoming year.
Well that is all for this month. Are you an older adult with ideas for columns ? Please feel free to e-mail your ideas, comments, and suggestions to af088.ccn·cs·dal·ca. Full credit will be given to older adults whose material is used in Cyber Seniors. Cheers!
