Christopher Majka

Christopher Majka is a performer with a long interest in the circus arts. He has studied with teachers such as Hovey Burgess (circus), The Flying Karamazov Brothers & Tim Bateson (juggling), Yuri Belov & Richard Pochenko (clowning), B. H. Barry (acrobatics), Richard Zachary, Nola Ray, Barry Grantham & Sherry Lee Hunter (mime & physical theatre) and Bari Rolfe (masks).

Over the years he has performed with Fool's Paradise, Portable Mime Theatre, A Moment's Notice, The Bluenose Jugglers, Halifax Dance, Pomorze Polish Dance Ensemble, Balaton Hungarian Dancers, Doina Romanian Dancers, Symphony Nova Scotia's production of Amahl and the Night Visitors and in performances such as Visual Alchemy, with modern dancer Sheilagh Hunt in From Plato's Cave to Schrodinger's Cat, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, Macintosh Speaks and Splicing Dice; in The Brunswick St. Review, Olio & Friends, Mad for Bliss, If on a Winter's Night a Traveller, etc. He has performed in Banff, Toronto, Boston, England, Poland and throughout the Maritimes.

He is a past director of the International Jugglers' Association (IJA) and has attended conventions of jugglers in Santa Barbara, New York, St. Louis, Montreal & London. He has been a past contributor to Juggle magazine and has written for Up in the Air and the Two Ply Press. He has served as translator for juggling superstar Sergei Ignatov from the Moscow Circus and has worked with juggling innovator extraordinaire Michael Moschen.
