It wasn't a patch, it was a pointer. ;)
You're absolutely right, the code needs to be overhauled; it's broken. For
example on our Solaris system right now it's not picking up the user's
mail address like it used to on SunOS.

I'd like to see CONFIGURABLE_MAIL_ADDRESS as a lynx.cfg or compile option,
with the user's email address detected automatically otherwise. I'll see
about adding this soon. I'd also like mailto: links configurable to call
Pine -- IIRC this has been done somewhere before, or am I hallucinating?

The posting is abortable without the changes I suggested, isn't it?
Just hit CTRL + G or CTRL+C and then hit ENTER.

wouldn't be too complicated.
