There have been a load of changes in the icons on Landon recently, so I put together a viewer so you could see what was actually installed there, based on the directory listing as of yesterday evening. Go to http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~aa146/TestIconsLandon.html with Netscape, and the list will be displayed, with a link to the French icon subdirectory. One of these days I will try to write a script to automate this :-) >>> Browsing these icons shows that in the English directory, the new icons look pretty good, but the icon at the left of the row is missing, and therefore shows up as broken. This is the icon that shows if you use http://landon.chebucto.ns.ca/icons/ so it is NEEDED. On CCN, the Editorial decision was made that coloured icons represented icons that are "active" i.e. live links, grey icons represent paths that cannot be taken from the present location, probably because you are already there (by analogy with greyed out options on menus or dialog boxes.) >>> Using the link to the French Icon subdirectory, I will use the phrase which has appeared here lately "Hopelessly Local", i.e. RCN specific, although it does have the equivalent generic icons as are present in the English directory. Look for yourselves, and consider where to take this from here.
