I've written a gawk script to build a list of terminal types which are
supported both in the termcap and terminfo databases of a particular
system. The output is in the form:

term|description

eg:

vt100|dec vt100 (w/advanced video)
vt102|dec vt102
...

On login or when using set-term, the database created by this script could
be consulted to see what terminal emulations should work.

Ed: could you give me an example of a terminal type which messes things
up on CCN so I can test my script?
