This report lists the problems I found with the Slackware (3.0 I think) distribution installed at wwhcn.cnet.windsor.ns.ca by Global Linx. Note: these are things that were going wrong with CSuite and do not necessarily represent problems with Slackware or the installation. They are configuration incompatibilities with the Distributed CSuite-1.0-Beta1 that were not referenced in the distribution documentation. 1. PROBLEM: no user 'nobody' + SOLUTION: RUN adduser - PROBLEM: no group 'nogroup' - + SOLUTION: added 'nogroup' to /etc/group - vipw, remove shell for nobody 2. PROBLEM: no mailq service + SOLUTION: edit /etc/services and add the line mailq 174/tcp 3. PROBLEM: permissions on /var/spool/mail (drwxr-xr-x) + SOLUTION: chmod 3775 /var/spool/mail (permissions on csuite) - note: permissions on chebucto are drwxrwsrwt - why the diff? Gerard MacNeil, P.
