We're stuck with this for now. Linux uses bash as /bin/sh and it
insists on doing a getwd call at startup. With our traditional directory
permissions, this produces an error message that cannot be redirected.

So, we have changed the directory permissions to make csuite/home/??
readable which results in the .. entry.

This is a temporary situation as the new lynx which will go into alpha
5.1 will have a new provision that you can't browse unless the directory
is writeable -- I have already got this working.

This will also solve our CVS problem.
