Index of Subjects Le Lun, 5 Mai 1997, Robert Cormier =E9crivait : > When trying to move with the arrow key in the files browser of Lynx, I ge= t > the strange [OB^[OB^[OB symbol. =20 The arrow keys in a vt100 or equivalent terminal send "escape sequences" which are composed of the characters <esc>[OA, <esc>[OB, <esc>[OC, <esc>[OD, depending on which arrow. The <esc> key is a non-display character (or control character.) So your terminal / telnet is sending the escape sequences but the Lynx is not understanding them as a "character group" to be interpreted as an arrow key. The problem is either telling CCN (at login) to use a different terminal type from the type you are sending as {there's bad English} or else you are using a terminal type for which CCN does not have a complete emulation (terminfo/termcap) entry.=20 Verify that the terminal type you are using matches the equivalent to what you are sending as. If they are different, use the correct value next login, and see if you still have a problem. If they agree, then you have found a terminal type that is not properly supported, or else the emulation on your end is broken. Report the terminal type you used, and the program that you use to connect, and we will try to verify it too! The userhelp team and helpdesk have a lot of experience with this :-) Ed Dyer aa146@chebucto.ns.ca (902) H 826-7496 CCN Assistant Postmaster http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~aa146/ W 426-4894 CSuite Technical Workshop Religion Page Editor, Chebucto Community Network http://www.chebucto.ns.ca >=20 > R=E9pertoire : /ccn/home/er/cormier (p 1 de 3)=20 >=20 > Le r=E9pertoire courant est /ccn/home/er/cormier > =20 > May 2 11:40 [1]../ > ^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[ > OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[OB^[O= B >=20 >=20
