Index of Subjects Jeff and Leo, This sounds very promising, particularly since the Recycling Program will not be sending any more 386s to schools. Leo we need to raise this with Michael Nicksy when we meet with him on VolNet. Are either of you aware of the work which Doug Rigby was doing with the Seniors program. He supplied them with a 286 or approximate equivalent with "Geo-Works" software and a Chebucto connection for $200. This sort of program is now very inviting to HRDC. Bernie Hart >>> <ljdeveau@glinx.com> 08/23/99 02:10PM >>> Some interesting thoughts there, Jeff. I often think the computer marketplace's pressure to have the best and fastest leaves out a very big segment of our populace who are either just keeping up, or are happy with what they got or simply need some moderate improvements without mortgaging their life :) Anyway, maybe we could partner your idea with the Technical Recycling Program that NovaKnowledge is coordinating to support schools (and soon Volunteer groups). Try to refine the specs and maybe this fall as we roll out the VolNet program we could experiment with how this might work (and at what price points). Cheers, Leo -------------- >Ive been thinking of something like this for a while.
