Index of Subjects Hi Jim, I've cc'd this to csuite-dev and invite any additions or contrary opinions of my answers. We're not very good at redirecting this sort of enquiry. It's now on my list of todos again:) > I have since located the pages containing the license and applicaion form. No; but perhaps this will be the start. > Are there any special system requirements to run csuite? Not over and above what is normally expected of a system supporting many simultaneous activities. Normally, CSuite would install into /var/csuite and it does add some entries into the passwd and group files and possibly it might create a link between the existing sendmail and the CSuite zmailer. I'm not sure if that last action has been disabled. > How mature is the installation? Is it possible to give an approximate time > limit for an installation? The installation itself is pretty straight forward if all the necessary system tools are aboard and took about 2-3 hours on a 166 Pentium. Some site information is input and should be prepared and ready. The steps necessary to configure CSuite are a part of the install. Tweaking is a continual process as much of the package is merely a reflection of CCN site policies and actions that each new site will want to refine. > Are the executables in csuite distributed in source or binary format? Lynx is the interface, yes. Some security patches are implemented but I'm not sure exactly what precise changes were made. The language and setup screen are now a part of the Lynx distribution. Other packages have been patched but mostly to address security issues. Majordomo has been changed but we do update to newer versions on Chebucto Community Net and the transition does not appear to be onerous. > I noticed links in the text-mode interface were numbered with [#]. We have just moved onto a Solaris box and the archives are a little messed up right now. I'll take a look and see what the problem is. The archiving can use our utility arch2html as a pipe at the top of the listname or you could install your own archiving utility. We've looked at others but found they were quite resource intensive although they offered features that arch2html did not. Mhonarc (sp) was one that did work nicely but our review was done on the old overworked system we have just left. We should re-review that I guess. > Thank you for your time.
