Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. Teresa came to the film and television industry from a background in social work and psychology. While completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at Simon Fraser University in 1988, she became involved in filmmaking.

Working as an independent producer and director Teresa has gone on to direct many documentaries for television; Learning Peace (2001); Waging Peace (2001) Lost (1999) The Other Side of the Picture (1998); Under Wraps; (1996); A Rough Crossing (1995); Teen Rebel/Teen Mom (1994); Child Sexual Abuse: Both Sides of the Coin (1991); and Breaking the Chains: A Story of Recovery (1989).

As well as being screened internationally at major film festivals these programs have aired on CTV, CBC, A&E, Vision TV, WTN, all Provincial educational stations as well as numerous broadcasts abroad.

These works have received top awards from The Yorkton Short Film and Festival, The New York Film Festival, The National Educational Film and Video Festival, The Columbus International Festival and WorldFest Houston.

Teresa makes her home on beautiful St. Margaret's Bay in Nova Scotia.
