Word On The Street 2002!
Well, it's over for another year. The 2002 Word On The Street
book festival held on Pier 20, Sunday September 29th drew an estimated
45,000 people.
This year, as in previous years, Chebucto volunteers were on the job by 7
am Sunday morning, loading cars with all the various computer gear and
sundries and setting it all up in time for the fair's start time of 11 am.
It didn't take long for the crowds to come and fill Pier 20 with sound and
activity.
Colourful presentations, free technical help, new brochure handouts and
T-Shirts helped draw people over to the Chebucto booth, as did mousepad
giveaways and the draw for a free one year Chebucto Plus membership.
Chebucto Chair Marilyn MacDonald and Board members Mark Rushton, Bill
Matheson, Bernie Hart and John McKay tirelessly greeted dozens of people,
long time members and new users alike.

volunteer Johnathan Thibodeau.
