Hey buddy, hope you are well and had a wonderful holiday season. Olive
and I just returned from BC and had a great time.
We ran and biked and
swam in Vancover(Kits), visited Mt. Equipment Co-op, spent a whole day
at the Museum of Antropology at U. of BC, ate Italian, Tia (wonderful),
hiked and ran and biked Stanley Park, snow shoed on Mt. Seamore (20 feet
of snow at the top), travel to Olympic National Park in Washington where
we hiked mountains and beaches for two days then onto Vancover Island,
hiked part of the new Coastal Trail which basically goes from Port
Renfrew to Sooke (wonderful), hiked the Sooke Pot Holes which was the
highlight of the whole trip (fast river through puff lava, deep canyons
and rain forest right in the middle of Sooke) also found the trail head
for the West Coast Trail beyond Port Renfrew through an Indian Reserve,
across a river and so on.
There were 100 rescues of the West Coast Trail
this year (2000). The weather was warm and wet, we ran in shorts on New
Years morning. All in all BC is everthing that is said about it rugged,
beautiful, warm and wet.
Glad to be back in our home province and
appreciate the wonderful people here.
Regards for us to you all....Olive
and Pop.
