Information Provider Training

IP Training Policy:

1. IP Training is only available for IPs and volunteers.
2. IPs will be given first choice for User and IP training.
3. Volunteers will be given the next choice.

Remember, Chebucto Community Net is completely dependent on volunteers for both training sites and trainers. We are always looking for more training sites and more volunteers to be trainers. If you are interested in setting up a training site and becoming a volunteer trainer, please let us know! Any inquiries about becoming a trainer should be emailed to the trainers mailing list.

IP Training Schedule

Please check this page for schedule updates.

There is a new self study tutorial for IP Training 1.

If you have not yet taken User Training, have a look at the CCN Training Page

Chebucto Community Net offers free training to volunteers, IPs (Information Providers), and users. Like many of Chebucto Community Net's services, training sessions are coordinated, developed, and conducted by volunteers. CCN is also grateful to the organizations which have graciously allowed us to use their facilities for training sites.

Courses Available

These 3 courses as well as the User Training prerequisites are considered to be the core material for information providers. If you are interested in becoming an information provider, check out the IP Committee Page.

How to Sign Up for a Course

Some of our training space is very limited, so you should sign up for a course in advance. Please don't drop in without advance notice.

You should pre-register for a course at least 3 to 4 days in advance. This allows time for the trainer to get in touch with you and confirm your place in the course.

To sign up, email the following information

to training. If your request to sign up does not contain the above information, we will not be able to register you in the course.

In order to take a particular course, you should check the prerequistes.
