Fog Remote Sensing and Modeling (FRAM) Workshop

Overview

 

·         Subjects: fog, visibility, low clouds, and ceiling

·         Goals: 1) promote scientific advancement, and 2) develop interactions among groups and create more collaborations

·         Emphasis: observations, field projects, remote sensing methods, statistical methods, climatology, nowcasting and forecasting issues, modeling applications, and operational applications (current and user needs), model verification and forecast verification

·         This is a workshop; therefore, participants are encouraged to shine a light on challenging issues as well as on promising results, to open up discussions on common problems, and to exchange ideas and information on effective strategies and techniques.

·         Day-1 and the morning of day-2 will consist of a series of 20-minute presentations (15 minutes for talks followed by 5 minutes for discussion). The afternoon of day-2 of the workshop will consist of in-depth discussion of common issues. For more details, see the program.
