Concertina on the South Coast of Newfoundland, 10 August 2006


Four weeks along the South Coast of Newfoundland aboard the “Concertina” from mid-July to mid-August 2006.
Thursday, 10 August 2006	Concertina enters the Great Bras d'Or and arrives in Baddeck; Hot showers are welcome but unsteady underfoot.
	By 0530 we were becalmed off Point Aconi as the wind was shifting around to light southerly. Wanting to make the fair tide at the gut into the Great Bras d’Or Channel we turned the engine on and passed through into the calm waters of the Channel by 0730 just 24 hours from raising our anchor in Little Garia Bay. We were back at Henry’s boatyard before noon where showers and laundry were the first order of business. It was hot in Baddeck that afternoon! No need for wool shirts there.
