[Road to Picnic] Road through the magnificient Earltown forest
to annual Pipers Picnic in Earltown (first Saturday of August)
.
Further along this cathedral of trees one passes the MacKenzie Pioneer Cemetery on the right. The Pipers Picnic supports the maintenance and refurbishment of the pioneer cemeteries in Earltown; a tribute to our Highland ancestors, the pioneer settlers who came to Earltown from (mostly) Sutherland, Scotland in the early 1800s.
