Identity

[Crest: Clansfolk of Clan McIntyre] Crest of Clansfolk of Clan McIntyre

[Thin Blue Line]

After the first war my father became a minister of the Church of Scotland and his first charge was Callander (in the Trossachs).

One member of the church was an old lady who lived in a very small house out of the village. Being bed ridden, my father used to pay frequent visits to make sure that she was alright.

On day finding her in a very depressed mood, and noting that her Gaelic Bible was at her bedside. Opening it up at Matthew 13 v55 he read out the line 'Is this not the son of the carpenter....' and being in Gaelic the last four words being 'Mac an t-Saoir'.

The depression lifted and everyone who came to see the old lady was shown the passage in the bible where _HER_ name was printed.

How important it is to have an identity.
