Major McCulloch has served with the greatest gallantry and distinction in all phases of the Italian campaign in which 5 Canadian Armoured Division has participated. As a result of his outsatnding ability and judgement, this officer was selected on many occasions to act as Liaison Officer between Field Ambulance and regimental Aid Posts. This, while being one of the most dangerous, is also one of the most important duties tht can be assigned to a Field Ambulance Officer. His duties have required him constantly to traverse shell swept roads and to work under adverse conditions. His cheerfulness and resourcefulness under fire were most marked and created a feeling of confidence which influenced to a high degree the morale and efficiency of the unit. Throughout his tour of duty as Company Commander, and later as Second in Command of a Field Ambulance, Major McCullough has been an inspiration to all with whom he has come in contact and his splendid efforts have saved many lives.
