The FSCNS acronym, found in our URL, denotes "Friendly Scottish Clans in New Scotland". Any similarity to the acronym of any society or organization operating within or without Nova Scotia is purely coincidental.

Saturday seems to be the day folks take a break from net surfing! We receive about 1,000 fewer visits to our Scots web site on Saturdays, than on any of the other six days of the week.

Our Scottish website was originally in the /Culture/ directory. Shortly before Christmas 1995 it was moved into the /Heritage/ directory of the Culture Section, in the re-organization required by ongoing growth and expansion of Chebucto Community Net (CCN). Last spring (1996), CCN obtained a new domain name. Our URL was changed from:

The /Culture/ path was kept open until early May to allow visitors to access the site, and bookmark the new URL. Redirection pages are in place at key junctions in the site.

Despite our ongoing efforts to notify all those who link to our site, and the redirection page put in place by David Trueman, we continue to lose about 1500 visits/hits to our site daily since the /Culture/ link was closed.

The average daily number of hits or visits to our website remained more or less constant during the months of January and February, at approximately 11,000 visits per day. However, since there were three more days in January than in February, the monthly total for February is lower.

We appreciate the time these folks take to visit our website, and hope they feel very welcome among us.

The number of visits to our website during January, February and March in 1996 were determined by a retroactive URL, on September 19, 1998. We note that the number of visits during these months are substantially lower than in April and months following in 1996.

They were determined during a period when CCN was undergoing an extensive upgrade to a new operating system. These monthly totals will be re-examined at a later date.
