For those interested in the outcome of B Forsythe's Wolfville Ridge Rd nesting Wood Duck family Bernard Forsythe's owl nest-box taken was taken over by a female Wood Duck towards end of April: May 21/2020 - female WODU sitting on her eggs - remember she had laid 15 eggs May 24 - Bernard found her sitting on nest but there were hatched ducklings under her May 25 @ 8:00 am she was still in box he noted, before he left for some birding @ 4:30 pm when he returned she had left with her duckling family of 14, with just one egg left. Bernard searched around ditches and other likely placed close to home where she might have gathered her brood, but never found her or her little family. Incubation was 31 days. We can just hope this gallant lady and her family made it to safely to a pond or a waterway. Cheers, Judy Tufts >>>>>>>> Judy Tufts Wolfville <<<<<<<<
